marking key for lab2 ==================== total marks 10/10: * take off one mark for any mistakes * +0.5 for finishing at least 30 min early * no more than 10/10 - good explanation of timing algorithm a. ask them obvious questions such as why is the address reg clocked after the PC.... b. make sure they understand the circuit well.. cos most ppl have ripped it off from the webpage c. if they have ripped it off, mark extra hard. chances r they have understood it, but we want to make sure. d. get both lab partners involved in explaining different aspect of the labs. since they are working together, make sure they both know just as much. - demonstrate fetch and execute cycle a. ask them why fetch cycle is longer (for writing into ram.. acc etc) b. ask them to point out which one is the fetch cycle. - use of code and add register a. optional, cos i have had a group where they've done the lab using rom and ram combination - correct write/read rem - correct implementation of algorithm - runs smoothly without errors - look out for similar errors in lab1, negative numbers etc. - write algorithm (assembly) on paper - emphasis on their understanding~ 10/10 for perfect working solutions only!! a. most people come very very prepared.. b. test them on their total understanding!
